to our daughters and our sons would like to explain that today's war is never humanitarian, because it tramples on the freedom of peoples, killing mostly civilians, and is essentially a big deal related to weapons, reconstruction and control of resources. For this war can not be standardized or embellished, as it is likely to do if you bring children to the police station for an initiative that will be perceived as joyful. If we want the "Day of Solidarity" educate for peace and human rights, it must be carried out outside a police station - space for himself at all suitable for children - and in places associated unequivocally to the topics addressed, such as our schools.

The only way that families have to disagree with the site chosen for the initiative is, in fact, to lose a day of school for their children.
These critical issues can be overcome: just want to start a real public debate, and not to seek confirmation or justification of decisions already taken. Thus, we ask that the organization of the "Solidarity Day" being re-between all stakeholders, ensure that its objectives can be achieved without ambiguity. For our part we ask from now alderman to school policies and school directors to place the initiative in a place other than a police station, or at least to reschedule on a holiday or school hours, to allow families to choose whether to participate or not their children.
